summer - part V

Added on by Justin Vekinis.

The last part of our trip. Greece. I'll break it up into two different parts. I love Greece. I always have a great time when I go.

This post will focus on Athens & Mykonos.

I really love the way the GX1 captures the depth of colors.

The fruit in Greece is amazing. And incredibly cheap. Peaches are 2 euros/kilo ($1.20/lb) and this was even a little expensive.

The Acropolis is a must see. It's beautiful up close, but spectacular in the sunset from afar. Also, be aware that if you're there in August, it'll easily be 40-44 degrees Celsius downtown in the sun (105-110 fahrenheit).

There are various ruins all over Athens (and under it - seriously, the metro stations are part museums in certain areas). This is the Temple of Zeus, Olympia.

I'll end Athens on a shot of the skyline from our apartment. Athens is an incredible city and if you don't see Athens when you go to Greece, then you're really not seeing Greece.

Onwards to Mykonos!

 Obligatory windmill shot.

Mykonos is a beautiful island. It's one of the quintessential Greek isles. It's also pretty big on the party atmosphere, so if you're looking for a good (but expensive) time, then Mykonos is the place for you. Even if it's not, Mykonos is an island everyone should see at least once on a trip to the isles.

Another postcard area of Mykonos is a place called 'Little Venice' where the waves of the Med roll straight onto the walls of houses and restaurants.

Next post will be the final summer post and will feature Santorini and a little bit of Spetses (my favorite Greek isle).
